Best no-code and low-code options for multi-agent systems

SHORT ANSWER

For building agents without code, n8n (6.3 on our multi-agent rubric) is the most flexible visual option and can self-host for free, and CrewAI AMP includes Crew Studio, a no-code builder. BAND ranks 01 on this page for a different reason: it is how no-code and vendor agents, such as Copilot Studio and Salesforce Agentforce, work alongside coded agents in shared rooms. OpenAI's Agent Builder is not an option; it will no longer be available from November 30, 2026.

Why not OpenAI Agent Builder?

It was the most visible visual multi-agent canvas of 2025. OpenAI announced on June 3, 2026 that it is winding down Agent Builder and Evals, and from November 30, 2026 they will no longer be available. If you have flows there, n8n is the closest visual replacement, or move to the OpenAI Agents SDK in code.

When does no-code stop being enough?

When agents need to talk to each other rather than pass data down a pipeline. Visual tools are good at "trigger, step, step, approve". They are weaker when three agents need to discuss a case, share evolving context and decide who acts next. That is typically the point where a team adds coded agents, and where a shared layer like BAND keeps the no-code and coded agents in the same conversation.
